Simone Leigh (b. 1967, Chicago) is a multidisiciplinary artist based in New York. She received a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and Herb Alpert Award in the Arts in 2016. She has also received grants and awards from A Blade of Grass, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation, Creative Capital, Lower Manhattan …Her other notable exhibitions include retrospectives of Cindy Sherman (2012) and Walid Raad (2015) at the Museum of Modern Art. Well respected in the art field, she teaches curatorial studies at Harvard University and publishes widely.
